Poll Everywhere:
Quick Checking for Understanding in a Variety of Ways
Poll Everywhere allows you go get quick data from students.
Students DO NOT need an account. This means that I don't have to wait for kids to log in. This also means that I don't have to worry about kids not knowing their passwords. Time is vital. Poll Everywhere saves it. No accounts mean that I cannot give credit for responses. I don't use Poll Everywhere to give points. I use it to check for understanding within the lesson so that I can adjust if the students need it. |

LOSING THE ANONYMITY
If you want to know who wrote open-ended responses, ask students to start their answers with their first names. They will need reminding. I often put the reminder in the question.
