Getting Ready for GV 1:Web!
On Friday, May 16th we have our last minimum day before final exams. ILT would like to invite you to participate in some hands-on training to get ready for next year's 1:Web transition. All trainings will be from 1:30 to 2:30pm. Presenters and locations will be sent to you via email confirmation the day before the sessions.
Please read the session descriptions below to see what interests you. Don't forget, we are also always available during office hours!

Google FormsNeed help with Google Forms in preparation for this year and next? Come to this session to get practice building forms for quizzes, assignment submission (aka dropboxes), and other practical uses. Forms recently added some cool new features!
Location: Room 108 |
FlubarooGoogle sheets recently went through some updates and this changed some of our favorite features. Flubaroo is an add-on (it used to be a script) that helps you grade basic quizzes that you build in Google Forms. The new updates make Flubaroo easier to use and faster to run. You must know Google Forms to attend this session!
Location: Room 313 |
DoctopusGoogle Sheets also caused Doctopus to change, just like Flubaroo. This previously intimidating program got so much easier! Doctopus is a way to "pass out" electronic assignments to students. It allows you to control editing privileges and manage students' assignments from start to finish.
Location: 105 |
Weebly WebsitesHave you heard? School Wires is going the way of the dinosaur. Many staff members have chosen to build their websites with Weebly due to its simple "drag and drop" capabilities and its professional looking format. Find out what makes a good website (like the 3-click rule) and visualize how you will manage and organize your instruction from a website.
Note: If you do not already have a Weebly account, please create one BEFORE attending this session. Location: B2 |
Managing WorkflowDo you need to see the big picture? Come to this session to discuss with other teachers how to manage your workflow. Workflow is defined as the sequence through which assignments are distributed, collected, graded and returned to students. This session may be a little less hands-on than the others, but you will get a chance to see different workflow processes, discuss them with others, and then start sketching out your ideas for the future.
Location: Sci. 5 |
All sessions will be capped at 20 participants so that we can give you effective help and to best stimulate conversation. Register right away using the form below to get the session you are most interested in.
The day before the sessions you will get an email reminding you about the session along with more information about the session and the location.
